How We Started
Coming back to his hometown (think there may have been a pretty lady involved) after serving in the Army Air Corp as a B29 pilot in World War II, Jack Justus started working for Mr. Whelchel who owned a hardware store in downtown Branson. In 1951, Jack bought that store and grew the business. In the early 1950s distribution of merchandise was limited for retailers. The Justus family took a big step in switching from a retailer to a plumbing wholesaler. Now we could buy directly from the manufacturer and pricing was much better. We made that move in 1961, under the banner of L&J Plumbing Supply. In 1973 we outgrew our first location in downtown Branson and moved to a larger facility just a few blocks away. In 1997 we opened a branch on the other side of Table Rock Lake in Stone County. After outgrowing our second facility in downtown Branson in 2005 we moved again to a larger place north of Branson just off Hwy 65 and the High Road. That is where we are and still under the leadership of the Justus family.
We are the little guy that has been here for 70 years! We are still growing and most of all, we are still learning. Learning how you want to be served, learning what you are after. In all the ways we do serve you, my hope is that it will be a good experience, that we understand what you need and want, that the information you receive from us is accurate and timely, the products you buy are what you were after and you know you were given a fair price.
